100% pure fractionnated coconut oil
100% pure, non-GMO fractionated coconut oil. Perfect for massage and blending with essential oils.
Fractionated coconut oil (triglyceride) is odorless, non-greasy and non-staining.
What is fractionated coconut oil?
As the name suggests, fractionated coconut oil is a fraction of coconut oil from which almost all the long-chain triglycerides have been removed, leaving mainly medium-chain triglycerides and making it an absolutely saturated oil. This saturation gives it a very, very long shelf-life and greatly enhanced stability.
What's more, fractionation triggers the concentration of capric and caprylic acids, giving it a greater antioxidant and disinfectant effect.
How is fractionated coconut oil obtained?
First, coconut oil is hydrolyzed. Next, the product is steam distilled to obtain fractionated coconut oil. The result is a fluid oil full of medium-chain triglycerides.
Uses of fractionated coconut oil
Being fine and stable, it has many uses which can be broadly categorized into the following applications.
Cosmetics:
It is widely used in the preparation of soaps, lotions, ointments and other cosmetics.
Aromatherapy:
It is used as a carrier oil, since it facilitates the absorption of other oils and herbal extracts.
Medicines:
Used for its antiseptic and disinfectant properties.
Hair care:
It is also used in a number of hair care applications.
Culinary use:
It is used in cooking, as it does not go rancid easily and is very stable.
*WARNING
AVOID FIRE FROM MASSAGE OILS
All brands of massage oil and gels cans cause fires.
Oil-saturated linens and towels can spontaneously burn up in the dryer or when stored after drying, even after washing.
Use caution when drying or storing fabrics in your dryer, or when stored after drying and even after washing.
Use caution when drying or storing fabrics exposed to oils.
Consult your dryer manufacturer’s instructions if necessary.
Laundry fires are related to spontaneous combustion. Incomplete removal of oily residues from textiles is one of the factors.
The problem begins in the dryer when the residual oils are heated and eventually either the oils themselves, or their degradation products, begin to react with the oxygen in the drying air.
The reactions start only slowly in the dryer, they can continue in the hot stack of clean folded towels or sheets.
